@Dale Loo

I actually just had a similar situation happen to me. In my case, I let it slide because the tenant involved has been great and this isn't an every month thing. My lease does address the issue, however. It says something to the effect of the tenant being responsible for late fees if a check doesn't clear. And it's not your responsibility to proofread checks.

I accept personal checks and haven't had many problems. I also use eRentPayment.com and PayNearMe.com. You could always require tenants with more than one instance of check issues to pay with another method.

Success!

50/50 mixture of bleach and water removed the stains almost instantly. The garden hose took care of what was left. The roof looks 100% better!

I'm going to try the 50/50 bleach and water solution tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

I'm reading online that a 50/50 solution of bleach and water will do the trick. Just soak it down, let it sit for 20 minutes, and rinse with a garden hose.

Does the fungicide work instantly? I actually found some roof cleaner on Lowes.com. I'm not sure how well it will work.

Algae is what I meant. Whatever causes the stains on the shingles.

Has anyone had success cleaning a shingle roof? I have one with the black mold stains and streaks. Someone recommended something called neutral copper fungicide power. I have no idea what it is or where to get it. Any suggestions?

I snapped some pictures with my iPhone today when I was at the house. Carpet is coming on Monday.
