Hello, my name is Manuel, I am currently a freshman in college. I am on a scholarship which pays for all of my tuition. Right now, I am pursuing a bachelors in finance. I went into college pretty excited and after these 2 semesters I'm disappointed. The things I am learning do not interest me at all. I am not motivated. I'm getting a workload of homework every week and work on the weekends. I really want to start investing in real estate with the brrrr strategy. I am very passionate about real estate and the idea of building a portfolio. If I do end up dropping out I want to work at a local real estate brokerage that has hired family friends that don't have a college degree. I understand the benefits of getting a degree and having a good paying job but that's just something I do not want. My plan was to get a job to fund my real estate investing career but I'm basically not gonna be able to invest until a few years after I graduate. I figure I'd start working full-time now, save my money, and fund my first rental. I am educating myself as much as I can by reading books on real estate investing and hopefully joining a REIA in the summer.

Hello, I am an 18 year old college student debating if I should start fixing up a distressed house that my parents will be selling it to me for less than 10,000. I will be able to pay the house off in small monthly payments. The house needs damn near everything besides flooring and gutters. I am estimating the rehab to be anywhere from 60,000 and 75,000. My other option is to buy a duplex straight out of college and house hack. I look at the house my parents are providing me as a future rental property because the house has a lot of potential with 1,478 square feet with 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Square feet can be added if the attic is fixed up and made into a room.
