You Should Finish Each Day A Little Smarter

I set aside several hours every day to further my education, as does Warren Buffett.

Just yesterday I learned Colorado passed a new law that greatly affects property ownership, and real estate investors, and community associations.

What's the new law? I can't find anything.

Has anyone found a bank that will allow a cash out refinance under 6 months? I called around a dozen banks today and not a single loan officer had heard of it. I wonder if I'm wasting my time.

Where is Broomfield at? I use to live up near Fort Collins, CO in college. Great place.

Anyways, welcome! Don't forget a photo!

Hey Brandon,

Broomfield is about half-way between Denver and Boulder. I've only been living here a year, but so far I really enjoy it. I was just up in Fort Collins for the first time the other day to buy a puppy. It seemed like a really nice little city.

Keep up the good work on the podcasts!

Hey everyone,

I just thought I'd write a quick introduction. My name is Marcus and I'm from Denver, Colorado. I went to school for engineering, but after I graduated I quickly found out working for other people isn't for me. I started a web app business which was pretty successful for a few years. Now I'd like to use the money I earned from that business to fund some real estate investments.

For the past few weeks, I've been learning as much as possible about real estate. Bigger Pockets has been a huge help. I've been reading the forums and listening to every podcast. I'm just finishing up J Scott's books, which have been extremely valuable too.

I've yet to formalize a business plan, but I'm leaning towards investing in rental properties. I had originally wanted to flip houses, but it seems like it would be hard to find enough deals to keep me busy.

If anyone in Denver has recommendations for agents or contractors, I'd love to hear them!
