Thanks for that Brian. So is it a violation because the ADU is on my personal property or does it violate the tax rules because the rents collected by LLC would in essence be funding disbursements from my SDIRA? Or both?

Could the LLC fund an ADU on someone else's property and collect rent from that?

The impetus for this is that I believe I could get more monthly retirement income from the rent payments than just drawing down the funds in my SDIRA. Eventually selling the property and paying back the LLC with a proportion of the proceeds from the sale.

I have an LLC under my SDIRA. Can the LLC finance an ADU on my property with rents paid to the LLC? Then could those rents fund disbursements to me from my SDIRA? In other words, I want to invest SDORA funds to pay for an ADU and then use a portion of the rent generated by the ADU to fund monthly disbursements out of my SDIRA.
