@Vincent Chen and @Andrew Postell - keep in mind that you would have PMI on any loan that you put less than 20% down on, and may affect cash flow.

@Brandon Carlson - Thank you. I'm learning lots and just put a down payment on my first deal since joining bigger pockets.

I rent where I live to because it's so expensive in California and I move every few years with my projects. I would definitely consider owning my primary, but it's not an available option for me as I chose location and living on the beach for a premium for awhile at this time in my life.

Hi, my name is Mary Veldkamp and I currently live in Huntington Beach, CA
I am new to bigger pockets and excited to learn all I can about investing, finding and analyzing deals, getting to know others, creating a team and putting new knowledge into practice.
I have been a landlord previously in CA and in TX and would like to start investing again. I have an AA in interior design as well as a BS in Construction Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona. I currently work as a PM building for a commercial general contractor in SoCal with background in hospitality, aviation, private commercial and healthcare. I love my job and the experience I have has given me confidence to pursue this side of my interests as I am not afraid of construction and know how to estimate properly as well as schedule.
I came to join Bigger Pockets through my sister and her husband who are successful business entrepreneurs and watching how the BRRR process works for them. I would also love to have financial freedom from my W2 and use all my experience to learn a new business. I started putting the building blocks in place and know I can get there with my hard work ethic, integrity and attention to detail.
I would love to connect with a CPA, attorney, contractor and agent in Nevada and Arizona and Florida or anyone else that wants a teammate to partner with or just network. I can bring both cash and management experience to a deal. I am willing to travel, flexible with my time and resources.
Best, Mary
