A house I’ve put in an offer on has some damage and cracking in the bricks that was covered over with this white mortar (not sure if that’s what it’s called) that is just caked onto the larger cracks. I’m assuming this was caused by movement in the foundation (still need inspection from a professional to determine the severity) and I was wondering what the options are for making it look less tacky? Also, can you pressure wash brick homes or is there some preferred method of cleaning the exterior? Thanks in advance!

@Kelly Claiborne

For me it’s financing. I’ve got limited cash reserves that I’m trying to save for capex and similar expenses. Hard money lenders I’ve talked to have required >25K in liquid reserves which defeats the point and I’ve struck out with private money. I will keep trying and am exploring seller financing but my knowledge on that is limited currently. I want to invest in long term buy and holds but am considering flips first to build capital.

Any investors in the San Angelo area interested in chatting with a newbie about flipping, BRRRR, or long term buy and hold? Looking to get started investing and would love to network and meet people more experienced than myself!

Post: How To Get Started Buying Rentals With Home Equity

Hello. I am 24, in San Angelo, TX. I bought my first house in Dec. 2019 and live there with my girlfriend and 4 kids. Our family is a little large to try and house hack a duplex /tri/fourplex or that would be my first option, so I am looking into trying to eventually take the equity from our house and purchase a rental property. How do I finance multiple properties off a single income without exceeding DTI ratio? Once the rental is purchased and rented out how can I refinance it and keep acquiring more and more properties. Just looking for the steps laid out for me more or less. Thanks in advance for any tips/recommendations.
