Hi James, just to bring my small own contribution : It's not exactly the same situation with yours, but i had more or less the same kind of troubles, so you re not alone ! My previous tenant left very end of August (after 4 months), and my house hasn't found a tenant from that time. You said, maybe it's a bad luck... i don't know : maybe are we 2 unlucky men ?
