Hello BP community!

I'm in the process of getting my first real estate deal under contract and it's a bit far away from where I live for me to do any rehab. I was just looking for recommendations on handymen in Poughkeepsie that I could trust to work on little things quickly. Does anyone that invests in Poughkeepsie have any suggestions??

(P.S. Thank you all so much for your support, I found my agent and mortgage broker through BP forums. Everyone on here helping out does a great job and makes a fantastic impact. Thank you again!)

Does anyone know of any great real estate agents or brokers in the Westchester County area? Could also be in Putnam or Dutchess as I am interested in potentially investing there as well. Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm about to graduate college and am looking to get started in real estate as soon as possible to begin building passive income. From reading some bigger pockets books, I've gathered that house hacking is one of the simplest ways to start. I'm looking to invest in Peekskill, NY and duplexes go for between $250k - $350k with a 2bd unit renting around $1900/mo. After I graduate, I'll be pursuing a career as a professional martial artist, starting with a 3 year apprenticeship (with a low salary) before opening up my own school. I really have two questions, 1) if anyone has found success in this market with either house-hacking or traditional investing? and 2) what can I do to improve my chances of getting approved for an FHA loan? I have good credit but I know that a low salary is an impediment to getting a mortgage. I appreciate any help and am very grateful for these forums. THANKS!
