@Jim Goebel if you look at the wall on the right in the picture about the third course of brick down there is a crack going across the basement. 

This is a house in the Milwaukee/Butler area. I am considering to buy it, however the foundation seems to have this huge crack in it. I was curious what people think about foundation problems, and roughly how much this would cost. I am also wondering what is the complete process of a repair like this? I am a carpenter, but I have never dealt with foundation issues. I have mostly done remodel work as well as built new homes. If anyone recommends a contractor, it would be greatly appreciated thank you!
