I agree with Mike's post. I am stockpiling. Then practicing gratitude for having been around this long without having to experience what's coming. That keeps me sane. I am after all an optimist. I will make it though as well. I hope we all do and prosper, and can help those along the way living in tent cities. I believe what Mike is saying is not only very possible but more likely to happen than not. I need to learn how to hunt!

Gold was a little crazy after the fed announcement wed. The higher it goes the more scared a feel.

Does housing go to the moon in hyperinflation? If that's the case we may see a real big rebound by the end of the year...

Not that I know of. Though it feels like more people are becoming aware. That's a start!

These statements seem misdirected if we're talking about a catalyst for fundamental economic restructuring and real change. It's not about democrats and republicans and which party controls congress. It's about central bankers controlling the entire show, with the democrat or republican who sits in the oval office as the head puppet to the privatized - yet socialist functioning - central banking system.

The fed is the real power. If that entity is not restructured then the democrat versus republican discussion in terms of spawning economic change and a true free market is meaningless.

It's like having a blown head gasket in your car's engine, then arguing that fixing the hub caps, and NOT the evil windshield wipers, is the best approach to get the head gasket fixed so the engine runs.

I love these analogies.

It hit me one day - if I'm in a position where I NEED to use precious metals as a "currency" then what I'm going to be using it for that I desperately need is food. In Zimbabwe, a $1 loaf of bread costs between $8 and $9 worth of gold.

That makes a lot of sense. I've been storing up on food. I am pro metal. I could see a solid use before a currency conversion. Perhaps unload it during inflation/hyperinflation, pay off all mortgage debt and start free and clear for the new dollar, amero, or whatever the next more global currency will be.

I like Peter Schiff.

Swiss francs could be cool. But I believe the Swiss did the unimaginable and just devalued it late last week. Some metal bugs believe the race to devalue has begun Today's 'fed buying 300 billion long u.s. security news looks grim for the dollar. Gold was parabolic for a few hours after that announcement. I will not be surprised if that trend continues.

That video makes sense to me. In the American revolution the colonists revolted against England's money trust: They forced central banking on the colonists. We've been fighting it ever since. We lost in 1913.

The views of G. Edward Griffin (Author - The Creature From Jekyll Island - written in the 90s) are the same: The ultimate goal of the real people in power is a one world fiat currency and one world power structure. It is amazing that this is still so far fetched for so many. Though I do get that feeling 'played all along' is not pleasant. I didn't like it.

These economic cycles and the grand vision of the people in power will happen unless we the peops, remove the fed/private banking from government. I don't presume central bankers want to ultimately rule a world of poverty. That would not serve them well. Just as it doesn't serve the fed well to keep us in complete poverty. But it's still dangerous, and it's not the free market as intended by our founders.

I am glad the grass roots movement is getting stronger on this issue. Maybe in four years someone like Ron Paul will not be considered a nutty conspiracy theorist. (I loved watching him question/grill Bernanke on CSPAN last month).

Can we get this Obama clip on 60 Minutes ? :)

Ok that last part I was kidding about.
