@Jessica Zolotorofe
Do you think that many REI's needs are able to be systematized as far as paperwork/contracts go? Or do you think that each project is almost too personalized that it wouldn't be worth the effort?
Also would it make sense to just narrow which area of REI you're willing to help with (flippers, buy + hold landlords, wholesalers, whatever else)?

@Mike McCarthy
Do those groups that just have you pay a monthly fee for lawyer services appeal to someone like you as far as convenience and money go? I've been considering going that route whenever I start my own practice, if there is enough of a need for it in my community obviously.
Just having a real estate lawyer in your community that you kind of have a membership with and you just $X per month to have them review docs if you need them, provide you with contracts, and other "small" things. And then just another fee if you ever need them to represent you in court.  I don't want to be like those "big name" people like Legal Shield. I just want to provide a convenient need for my area. (@Jessica Zolotorofe I'd also like your input on something like that. I don't know of many local lawyers that do something like this that focus in one area geographically and in law haha).

@Charles Kao
Do you/most people you know do a lot of research when trying to find a lawyer? Or is it just a whatever comes up on your google search? Or more word of mouth?
Would you also be interested in the above idea of a monthly fee/membership type deal?

Charles Kao Awesome, that's very helpful! Thanks again to everyone that's replying. Just asking anyone in general now... What do you see as your biggest needs from an attorney? Is there anything that you repeatedly have to go to them for? Would having someone do market analysis along with helping you form contracts for purchasing real estate be of interest? Or do most RE investors kinda deal with that on their own? Thanks in advance!

Charles Kao Yes!! I hate when they don't use plain language. And would you go with an attorney that offered lower prices with average service or average prices with more value (aka someone who made you less frustrated haha)?

Zachary C. Thank you!!! This is very helpful. Just another question for ya, though. I noticed you mentioned LLCs, is that your main need from an attorney as a RE investor? Or just the most common? Oh y'all definitely isn't in the Michigan vocabulary, but that habit is hard to break when you're from Nashville, TN.

So I'm wondering what frustrates RE investors about the legal field or what your biggest needs are from an attorney? (Flipping, landlords, wholesale, etc.) I'm trying to figure out who I can help and what the biggest needs are in the community. I also would love to hear about things you don't like or love about an attorney you worked with, ie: he read contracts to you or communicated mostly through email/whatever you preferred. Horror stories are welcome. I just want to see how I can better service y'all! Thanks :)
