Once your taxes start to get more complicated and need some strategy, that's when you hire the cpa. A good rule of thumb is if TurboTax doesn't do it easily anymore, it's probably time to upgrade. Once I had a few rental properties and into a couple flips I started hiring one.

CPA can be wherever, just make sure they have expertise in your state. Some will say that they can work for any state, but then they will not realize there's a different kind of LLC tax in your state, or whatever, and it will not go very smoothly .

Sorry hit reply by accident.  This is sound advice!  Really appreciate it.

Hi - when do most folks hire a CPA?  Before the first purchase, after...after several investments?

Also if you are an out of state investor, do you pick a CPA in your home.state?  Does it matter much?  I don't expect or need to meet the CPA physically, that would be nice but not required for me.

Thanks!

Post: Any invelo users?

Hi,

I am looking to invest in the Knoxville area, and am eager to meet other investors in the region, contractors, accountants, insurance brokers, etc.  Please reach out if you are interested in connecting with me!  Thanks!

Quote from @Joseph Pugliese:

I am a licensed realtor from Staten Island, NY, and I am looking to invest in PA. I don't know much about the state, but I have heard that it has a diverse and dynamic real estate market. I am interested in finding properties that can offer a better return than my current market, and I am willing to pay cash for deals under $250K.

I would appreciate any guidance or advice from investors, wholesalers, or realtors who have experience in PA. I am open to communicate with anyone who can help me find profitable opportunities. I am not here to waste anybody's time, but to learn and grow as an investor.

Hi - I am posting my vacation home in the Poconos (Arrowhead Lake community in Pocono Lake) this week on the market.  $250K.  If interested I am happy to share more info.  Thanks.
