Hi Michael - Welcome to BP!

Those books are fantastic. I can also refer you to some great podcasts that help detail the ins and outs if interested. Curious if you are looking into properties now and would love to connect/discuss further.

@River Sava Yeah, I'll take any podcast recommendations!

I am looking into properties, but I am not sure I'm 100% ready, but then again. When are we ever ready for life? HAHA, but really I just want to make sure I'm on the right path and have the right people supporting me.

Hi all, I just started listening to BP Podcast about 2 months ago. I first read David Greene's "BRRR" and then I read "Never Split The Difference" by Chris Voss since starting the podcasts. I am currently reading Long Distance Real Estate Investing. Looking to get started by House Hacking. I am also looking for someone who can benefit from my extra time I have daily to do some analyzing or whatever work they may need.

Look forward to networking with everyone on here!

 Hi Michael,

Would love to connect and discuss your goals further. I love that you are eager to help out others to help give some value to others. Have you started investing yet or are you still trying to figure out how to jump in?

Would love to hear more about your story.

Robert Reynolds

@Robert Reynolds I have not started yet, I am just trying to figure it out. I've been leaning all about it, but I know there's a ton more I need to learn. I have some free time each day which I could help someone or a team with whatever tasks they may need. Would love to build a network and continue learning so I can make 2023 my intro into REI!

Hi @Michael Songer Welcome to the community! Glad you're here. Another great way to network and meet people in your local community is to attend in person meet ups. BiggerPockets has a section just for this, Under the NETWORK tab- MEET UP

https://www.biggerpockets.com/...

I always recommend this to people just starting out. It's the best way to learn! IMO. Best of luck to you!

@Sarita Scherpereel Thank you. I'll check it out.

@Michael Songer Welcome to BP Michael! I've read both of those BP books, but not Never Split The Difference yet. I'll have to check that one out!

House Hacking is the best way to start. That's something you'll probably hear just about everyone say on here. What is your specific house hacking strategy? SFH rent by the room, multifamily, something else? House Hacking is getting harder to do here in SoCal (at least on the numbers side), but there are still deals that can make sense and with the market continuing to shift, there will likely be more opportunities on the horizon for investors.

@Marshall Leipprandt I definitely recommend it, great book. A lot to take from it in all aspects of life.

I was leaning towards multi family, but after looking around at numbers. Not sure it's the best route. SFH rent by room might be easier, but I'm truly open for options. I just know first step is getting my monthly rent to be less so I can save!
