@Jaron Walling thanks so much for your quick reply. We will definitely get multiple quotes. I’ve already got a couple recommendations from a friend who is a local real estate agent and investor so I’ll see what else I can find.

Hello BP community!

First time home buyer here. I am buying a house to live in, fix up and either sell or rent out in the next 2-5 years. I had an inspector look at the home and it looks like it's going to need a new roof and some structural work on the carport. The aluminum siding is also quite dated and ugly so our plan is to replace it in hopes to bring up the value. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on the most cost effective way for choosing shingles/roofers and someone to assess the carport. I'm not looking to cheap out on materials but Im also trying to avoid options that could inflate the cost without adding to the ROI. We'll be DIYing all Reno's on the interior but we'd prefer to have professionals do the exterior.

Thanks a bunch!
