Hello! I'm currently in the beginning stages of becoming a real estate investor. My goal is to focus mainly on buy and hold small multi family properties. My question is do I need to become registered or do anything specific to start my business? I thought I read somewhere that if you use your name as the name of the company that you didn't need to do anything. Am I misinformed?

Hello everyone, my name is Matt. I'm 24 years old, and a husband and father of two. My family and I reside in the charming Elizabethtown, Pa. I am an Industrial Maintenance Technician by trade, and my wife is a stay at home mommy. My goals in joining the bigger pockets forums is to become educated in the process of real estate investing. I'm most interested in buy and hold investing. My long term goal would be to make enough money through my investments to have the option of leaving my day job.

Now on to a bit of a question. My dad came to me last week and said he knew a local investor, who's wife is a very prominent real estate agent in the area. I asked him if he would be able to connect me with them, so he called and they said to have me give them a call after the holidays. Sounds promising, right? Here's the thing, I'm not exactly sure what they will be expecting, and I'm not really sure what I should say. I mean what do I ask them? Do I come out and say, "Hey do you mind giving me access to your network?", or, "Hey, would you be interested in being my mentor?". Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
