Congrats. I think the best way to start is to do your initial research and then take the leap and expect to learn the rest as you go along. Don't expect to know everything upfront. Good luck

 Hey Guys,

I heard Mehran's interview and was very impressed. He sounds like he's on the right track. Does anyone have any experience in this price range and if so, any advice, positives, negatives, reality checks, etc. to keep in mind? Any good markets to consider?

Hi Zacharias, I'm originally from South Africa and can attest to the dramatic appreciation in real estate over the last 10 yrs. However, it has slowed down the last 2 or 3 yrs though. Most people are now looking at home in gated or secured complexes if not luxury apartments due to the high crime rate. I have some relatives there that say rent in comparison to purchase price is not as great as some of the opportunities that exist here in the states. Do a lot of homework before you invest any money. I would also never buy anything sight unseen.

Doe anyone out there have any experience buying at trustee auctions? Are there still deals to be had? I've been looking into it lately and wonder how much title research is necessary to be safe. I've looked into Property Radar online and they offer some online research subscription but I can't determine how thorough it is. Anyone have any success with this or other services?

Thanks Mark and Dmitriy, that's good advice. I setup keyword alerts and need to attend some of the meetups to network. Hopefully, I can work with some wholesalers to either purchase or partner on a deal. If anyone needs any advice on the Vegas market as far as rentals go, please hit me up and I'll help with any advice I can. Thanks

Thanks for the advice William, I like the flyer drop idea along with door knocking. I wonder if I go directly to the banks if they may have an REO list I can make some offers on. I'll stay active on this site and update any progress. Thanks again

Hey Guys, glad to join you all on this site. Great to hear from others with similar goals in interests in RE. I've had good success buying to rent in Las Vegas, but now I'm interested in rehabbing in Los Angeles where I live, but I wonder if Los Angeles is too competitive and therefore the margins too thin for an inexperienced rehabber to have any success. Where would one go about finding deals or wholesalers with viable deals? Any help is appreciated.
