Thanks for that, Mike. I've enrolled in my local community college for Fall classes, 2008. Never hurts to have a back up plan.

I'd like to ask those of you who have replied to my post what you specialize in. Why have you chosen this path?

Thanks for the welcomes Stilts, John and Ryan.

I actually don't own or rent. Sounds nice doesn't it? I'm 19 years young and live with my mother.

I'd like to jump in so that I can stop wondering about what it will be like living paycheck to paycheck for the rest of my life. I know that I'm young, but I'm already tired of having a j-o-b. It's not that I'm lazy (well maybe a little... :violin: ), I just don't like the idea of making someone else rich while simultaneously giving up on my dreams of financial freedom. I figure the sooner I apply my knowledge, the better.

Hello all, my names Eli.

Right now I'm a beginner investor with no prior experience. I started researching about real estate investing a few years back, mostly in the library and book store. In 2006 I attended the Anaheim Real Estate and Wealth Expo. It got me all fired up, but I just wasn't ready to jump in. Now I'm armed with more knowledge and am ready to get my feet wet. Eventually I hope to acquire enough rental units to live off of.

Thanks to everyone taking the time to read this, and to the creator of biggerpockets for providing invaluable resources. Great stuff.

-Eli
