Hi Jennifer.. I know nothing about ranching but would think BillS advice is good wisdom... In life we can see poop in our left hand or compost in our right... I like to see the compost.  It sounds like you are looking for "a way of life"   then... how to make it work.  what if you started FortCollins compost where you get paid to pick up all the compost and turn it into soil... then get pigs?? what if you had a giant free range chicken farm?? a tiny house park.  or???  I hope you keep dreaming and have a most wonderful life.  laugh lots... get out of the box..

You mentioned that you did not see any piping in the drain this could imply that it is a dry well Google dry well ... over time the rubble in dry wells gets filled with sand and silt... this makes them no longer able to absorb the runoff.. so if you have no piping under the slab then you must have some kind of drywell and the only way I know of to fix a dry well is the vacuum out the rubble with the sand and silt and replace with new clean Rock...

Sorry I thought you were thinking it was a dry well .... I guess you may also want to confirm that the water is stopped up ... and not coming in from the ground...

how much water is backing up Lots or just a half inch... if it's just a little bit and there is no piping you could loosen up and vacuum out the dirt and rock and just put a new clean bunch of gravel in there... the big trucks you see on the road potholing  for all the fiber optic cables could vacuum out little holes that you can put fresh gravel in all of them... hopefully some of this makes sense

The typical shared driveway is not generally owned by both neighbors jointly, as previously described, but instead, one neighbor usually owns the driveway while the other neighbor will hold an easement to use the driveway, or a right of way over such driveway. Here, the owner of the driveway is considered to have the servient estate whereas the easement-holder is considered to have the dominant estate. The dominant estate has rights that exist on top of that of the property owner who must, in turn, moderate his own rights for the purpose of serving the dominant’s intended use.

found here   http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andrew-m-lieb/neighb...

go find out who really owns the right of way... hopefully not you

buy them out.

have them each give you 1/10 ownership in the other 4plexes

@Russell Brazil and this may be the issue... some neighborhoods may be opposed and some may be OK with panels.  maybe higher end areas don't like and middle income homes may appreciate....
