I just did a finished room in the basement and I glued berber carpet right to the floor. That way if it got wet you could just shop vac it up. Also I had old linoleum down as well and the installer just cut off the loose corners and layed the carpet on top.

Thanks for the suggestion, I could try to paint some of the ones in good condition but some are dented also. I guess I'll keep shopping around to replace those.

Thanks for the reply and great suggestions I really like New Visions Homes LLC! I think I will see if thats available or I thought of Bright Future Homes LLC. Hopefully one of those will work.

I've only done one buy fix and sell which was sold before it was done. Then we built our own house, we contracted it ourselves, and then we sold our old house on land contract. They have already refinanced and paid us off so we've been very lucky so far. I'm now ready to do another fixer so I figured its time to get serious and get an LLC set up. I really like fixers and my husband is a carpenter so we'll probably stick with them but who knows maybe after we have a few more under out belts we may branch out. Also with the market as bad as it is here in Michigan we may have to do more land contracts, LO, or rentals.

thanks again

I'm looking at a house that has hot water baseboard heat and am trying to decide what to do with it. I hate the ugly base boards and have looked at replacing them but they seem to run$200-$300 per cover! I figure for that price I can almost put in a new forced air furnace system. Do you think the baseboard heat is a turn off to buyers? And if not anyone know where to find cheaper covers. This house is only going to be in the $100,000 range ARV so I'm looking to save money.
thanks

Okay I've decided its time to start an LLC and am having trouble thinking of a name. I primarily buy, fix and sell sometimes outright and sometimes land contract. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
As my name shows I was thinking of new beginnings homes or investments but it just doesn't seem to flow right. What do you think?

Hi, I am in the thumb area of michigan as the locals call it or north of detroit area. I have only done 1 rehab and it was quite successful so now I'm looking for my second. I'm also doing a lot of researching and learning about all aspects of REI.
