@Mathias Bekele  How do you know the rent is $900? Is there a tenant paying that now? That seems a bit high for a 2/1 in that area. Maybe 7-$800 tops...along with what @eric smith mentioned

You have some great answers, but I think @Jay Hinrichs gave you the best anwser. Since you are just starting out you should read a few real estate investing books, listen to the BP podcasts (they are great!), and ask more questions on BP to educate yourself more on real estate investing.  You need to understand fully how you will make that $5k, as well as how you risk losing that 

$5k! My line is open...

You are in the right place here on BP! You find much of the information you need to get started in REI. Poke around, ask questions, and network! You should reach out wholesalers, lenders, agents, etc. I am an investor friendly broker, property manager, and I invest as well. We just looked at a duplex in Lawrenceville last week!
