I found it!! That rental property that I've been looking for. The one problem which might be a plus tho, is it's going to auction. It was listed on homesearch.com but did not hit the reserve. Now it is on xome.com and starts July soon. I've inspected the house and know what my I want to bid. Has anyone ever down business with xome.com home auctions and what should I watch out for?

Thank you Lisa Johnson and Rick H. For your advice on the property.  I ended up writing a letter and taping in to the front door.  In summary the latter said I really like their house and I would like to buy it as-is.  I'm going to continue to stop by it hoping a find friends or family there.  I'll keep you posted with what follows.

Thank you again both,

-Olen

Hello everyone!

I'm Olen and excited to learn more about real estate.  I currently work as a firefighter and own 1 rental property (3/2).  At work it is often for an older person to die and to be living alone with the house in poor shape.  How do I go about trying to buy one?  Should I write a letter and mail it to the house hoping they have relatives who will read it. I look forward to your advice and thank you in advance. -Olen
