Investment Info:
Small multi-family (2-4 units) buy & hold investment in Harker Heights.
Purchase price: $135,000
Used VA home loan on this duplex. Initially listed at $135,000 currently listing at $205,000
What made you interested in investing in this type of deal?
Interested in a duplex, because it was manageable. My tenant covered majority of my mortgage, and if there was a deficiency I'd be able to cover the costs.
How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?
Found this on Realtor.com.
How did you finance this deal?
VA home loan.
How did you add value to the deal?
Built a privacy fence for both sides.
What was the outcome?
Attracted tenants with dogs, and was able to increase the rent.
Lessons learned? Challenges?
Should have gone with a 4plex.
