Jason - I may be able to work out some kind of arrangement with my father as a partner. Ideally, my wife and I would try to move into a multi unit for our next place in a couple years and rent the condo we are purchasing now. Other than that, I have not found an alternative source of financing.

Hi Nick, thank you I appreciate it. We are looking at Pilsen, Humboldt Park, Avondale, East Garfield Park, and West Logan Square. I spoken with a gentleman named Weston yesterday who is the owner of XPlus Real Estate here in Chicago and he was really helpful. He focuses on selling multi family properties in Chicago, but the problem for us is that without us living in it and house hacking like Dhru mentioned, we can’t afford the 25% down yet.

Thank you everyone, if anyone is ever doing a flip in greater Chicago or even Milwaukee and could use an extra pair of free hands, would love to help and just glean information!

Hi everyone, I am a new member currently living in Chicago, but grew up in greater Detroit with a desire to get back there some day. I have minimal real estate experience apart from trying to buy a condo with my wife right now (tried to convince her to do a multi, but she didn’t bite). I work at Google now, but was in wealth management for a year. I have a strong desire to start getting more into real estate, likely starting out small and slow, but would love to get into flipping and large multi-families someday if I could make this my full time career. Hoping to get more involved in the community and thankful to have found Bigger Pockets!

Hi Greg,

Not sure if you saw this post, but it had some comments on him. I was actively in communication with the firm and have received all of their materials. The Fund Manager, Dan Brewer, is very responsive to questions and meeting with prospective investors. If you are interested, the senior living fund investor relations team is very responsive and sends materials if you reach out/sign up on their website, also below.
