@Account Closed Glad to hear you are local! You aren't the first person to mention DIG, but you are the first to actually have attended. I think with that positive review I will definitely have to check it out. What is the format? Is there a speaker, or do people just sort of walk around and chat?

@Brian Flounders I wish I had the siblings to get my business venture rolling! Although I imagine there is a bit of added stress involved with that set up.. I appreciate you reaching out-- people such as you, with knowledge of Philly real estate is exactly what I was hoping to find on BP. Any local REIA you are involved with you might reccomend?

I continue to be impressed by the podcasts... its amazing how many people know this much and are willing to share as much as they do.

I have actually heard of DIG... I read a book by Marc Sherby who is one of the people who helps run the group I believe... he definitely knows his stuff so I am planning to check it out in the near future.

Thanks for the tips-- I guess what scares me most is the "don't accept marginal deals" -- I suppose knowing how much to pay comes with the experience/research.

I am familiar with both of those towns-- very nice area. Are you doing primarily single family homes in Chester county?

Hey all--

Been educating myself on these forums for the past month or two, but this is my first post. I can't bring too much to the table as I am not yet invested in any real estate, but I am grateful for the wealth of knowledge and amount of help and time spent by real estate professionals. I am confident that with a little money, the nerve to take a big risk, and the knowledge that I have and will gain from this forum and hopefully people I get to meet through BP I will be able to build a business in real estate over the coming years, and that is my plan!

My "short term" goal is to buy a property within the next year. I am currently pursuing my real estate license. My job affords me the time and freedom to put a nice amount of time toward a second job. I see this as a great opportunity to meet great people and to learn about the industry, both practices and in local real estate.

Thanks again, and hopefully in the coming years I will learn enough to be able to contribute to this community!
