Excuse after another excuse... I told the GC I do not want the electrician put the fixtures in before the Drywall's. He said it is really not a big deal but he agreed to do so. Since we are waiting for the electrical inspection today, 2 hours later, he called me and said that we have a big problem. I wanted to build the wall in between to make 2 bedrooms (there was a partition before so there was 2 bedrooms, then, the last owner must have took it down) Anyway, he said the inspector had a problem on that wall and wanted the GC to go down to city hall to explain why there was no permit. The GC said he told me thousand times to build that wall after the electrical get inspected. Now it may delay for weeks. He NEVER told me that!!!! I just find that is the excuse AGAIN! Now he said the inspector left and electrician was not happy so he left without doing other minor jobs he agreed to do today. Just cannot take their excuses anymore!

Matthew Olszak no I paid GC and I don't deal with the electrician directly... I don't know about the lien doc. The GC just gave me the scope oh the electrician job on the paper/invoice.

@Mike Wood thank you for your advice. The electrician applied for the permit. It seems that all lights and fans would have to be installed after the sheetrock is done. I will be tough on the GC today. Thank you!

@Robert Soto thx for the info. The inspector is coming today to inspect the job. Right now all the wires and blue boxes are exposed. After it gets inspected, the sheetrock can put up. If he comes back to put the wires, switches, and face plates, does it need to be inspected again?Thank you

@Rod Hanks yes I will definitely not use this GC next time. He did the work with previous seller. Since I bought this house, the heating units job were not completed. We went into escrow all that. Anyway, so I had him to stay to do all the remaining reno. Little that I know, he would create this such a big trouble. I just wanted this job to be finish. In the future, I will always hire someone with referral, or someone with high reviews from home adviser or Angielist. Lesons learned. Thank you thank you!

@Debra Grumbach yes the GC is a big problem. I dealt with the GC directly so the GC is pressing me about this. Such a headache. Since the final payment is about 1/3 left. I am thinking to tell him that I will pay another 20% towards final payment but he must come back to finish his work after sheetrock is up. otherwise, he is not willing to furnish a few minor jobs which he hasn't finished in the house... maybe giving another partial payment is an incentive.

@javier yes it is the GC who hired The electrican. I am about to fire this electrican. It is very draining to work with him. Thank you for your advice!
