Roy, I am offering to run ads in local paper and C List, with my number. Will then schedule appointments around L Lords schedule. I do feel/hope all parties can give, me with asking for a 10/1 move date and her with being cool with that as our 8/1 lease hasn't started.

My Fiance just proposed that we should say if there is no qualified tenant by 9/1, that we stay and she commutes the hour ten minutes each way in Chi-Town traffic. We will propose this to our L-Lord when we see her tomorrow.

Thanks Ned. I do think(hope) she will be reasonable, after time to digest. Again, she was reasonable about not having us sign a full year on 4/1 and we are trying to be reasonable about the full year lease that starts 8/1, with a move out date of 9/31. This is on top of someone moving out at the end of July and she has yet to find a new tenant.

Situation...I'm a tenant. My lease was up in 4/31, but my fiancee was looking for a new job(Teacher) Our relationship has been good with the landlord over the 2 1/2 years here. I help with things, the elderly tenants groceries and sometimes fix minor things. She extended a short term lease through 7/31 so fiance could look for new teaching job. In mid June, prospects weren't looking good for job, so we signed a new one year lease starting on 8/1/13 as we didn't want to have fiance get job in early July and we up and leave her with an empty apartment. Well fiance just got new job 30 miles away and we want to move. Have suggested that we would leave at the end of Sept. This gives plenty of time to find some one and it's a popular lease date. So, since the lease hasn't even started(8/1 start date) am I still stuck? Again, I'm trying to work with the landlord but she is saying we signed the lease. HELP!
