@Jonathan Greene

Thanks for your response. Totally agree with you about it bringing a better tenant because of the higher financial responsibility.

@John Teachout

No my dad and I will be managing the property since he has experience from managing 6 apartment buildings in Manhattan. We’re thinking about using a realtor to get the property rented out because we think we’ll be able to get a higher quality tenant.

Hi all,

Just closed my first deal in Florida and have finished the rehab phase. I contacted my realtor about posting my property for rent on Zillow and Realtor and she let me know that I will not need to pay her a commission for advertising and showing the property, the tenant will. I have read that in Florida the landlord normally pays the realtor to show the property not the tenant. To any experienced investors, is this a turn off to potential tenants?

I appreciate all responses! Thank you!

Will be closing on my first property this Friday. Would love to hear any regrets, mistakes, tips, or things you wish you knew after closing to help make me a little less nervous. Thanks!
