Hi All! I am Pete Smith from King of Prussia, PA. Looking to house hack my way into and through my first year in a multifamily in Bridgeport, PA and having a blast researching properties (both online and in the streets) , financing (Physician's Loan vs VA Loan vs FHA). Haven't even begun to break the surface of BP but already loving the collective knowledge and experience of the group.

I'm a married (wife is on board and excited), full-time podiatry resident. I enjoy soccer and skiing. I am originally from Reading, PA  and went to Penn State for undergrad. Came to BP about a year ago, dropped the ball, but am back at it after a strong referral from one of the guys I work with who recommended the BP Podcast. I do have some background in search engine marketing as well so hoping to be of service there.

Thanks for the local Bridgeport news insight @Steve Babiak

Hey @Gordon A.!

I'm a Podiatry PGY2 looking to do the same in PA.

I used the list of Physician Loan Providers from the WCI's (mentioned in @Account Closed comment) and removed any that did not loan to Pods or in PA. That left me with a list of 15 each of which I called.

Every lender is different in exactly what they offer as far as 0% down to 20% down. Most have no PMI. Of all the lenders I looked at, they all require that it be your primary residence (some allow for purchase as second home but %down generally increases).

They pretty much all allowed for Single Family, Condo or Townhouse. I found one that allowed for duplex (with $0 down and no PMI!). None that I found allowed for Triplex or Quad.

I will try to post some updates here as I move through the process but intend to land a duplex deal, live in it until end of residency renting out the other unit, then rent both units in 1 year after finishing residency.

Hope this helps a bit!
