Hi all, thankyou so much for the quick responses and most valuable information, Its nice to see others from Ct. here.
Regarding the 4 way split thing, what we are planning on doing is to do a couple of projects together so that we can benefit off each others knowledge and experiences to hopefully avoid any major mistakes, any profit we make off of these first couple projects will go into our business account as "seed" money, and hopefully we will all get a feel for flipping as well. Ultimately we are hoping to each take on our own projects, so that in a perfect world we will eventually have 4 or 5 projects going on at once and at that time start giving ourselves a salary. we currently all either have jobs or are running a small business so we each have our own seperate money coming in. I realize that this will take a bit of time to all come together but like they say, investing is a marathon not a sprint. thanks again...Ron

Thanks so much Jon...what was mentioned in that thread was pretty much what I expected to hear.

Hi all, as you can see I'm a complete newbie to this forum, and also a newbie in the world of REI. You can get a summary of my current situation in the new members forum. First and formost, I'd like to thank you all in advance for taking the time to help me and others getting started in the world of REI, I really appreciate it. That being said, heres my question...are these online m"find an investor" websites legit? I looked into one "privatemoneygoldmine-dot-com" and they say that for $97 you can get a list of 300+ investors. But at the end of the enrolment process, and just before you give them a credit card # they state that they don't actually look into any of these investors to see if they are legit or not, they state that some may not return your calls and that some may not actually be lending out any money, then they say that along with the $97 sign up fee you also have to pay $30 every month to keep your subscription updated. I don't know, it sounds a little fishy to me, and was wondering if any of you have ever used any of these types of websites to find investors, and if they actually helped you at all or not? I really don't want to get caught up in a scam... Thanks again for any input you can give me....Ron

Hey all, just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Ron and I recently decided to venture into the world of REI. This is a partnership deal with 3 of my friends, one of which is a contractor/handyman, the other has dealt in REI in the past but has been out of it since the mid 80's, the other is a real estate apraiser with 25 yrs in that field, and I'm a licensed arborist/ horticulturist to deal with the outside end of things. between the 4 of us we are hoping we can handle a few projects and make things work.
For now our primary intention is to flip distressed homes but ultimately maybe we could do some renting as well...I've/we've got lots of questions but I'll try to post them in the appropriate areas of the forum...Thanks in advance for any info you're willing to share.
For what its worth I'm 43 yrs. young, happily married to my beautiful bride for 15 yrs. I have 2 children and 4 young foster children (all siblings) that we are hoping to one day adopt, and possibly another foster child (also a sibling to the 4 that we have) which we believe is due sometime in Dec.
I've owned my own business in arboriculture / horticulture for the past 7 years...Thanks again, Ron.
