@Ridwan Abdurrazaq
Mason said it right, our housing market is tied to the oil market. Right now though the market seems to be coming up. All the realtors I’ve talked to are selling lots of houses during this time. They seem to think it’s because interest rates are so low right now and the oil is coming up. I know of a decently updated 1,600 square foot house in a B market sell for $225,000 in less than a week recently.

@Tina Tsysh
Thank you, we’ve been looking at other properties in our market in the price range. Looks like common in kitchen for the most part.

First off I would like to start off my post by saying, I don’t know the correct term for the half-sphere ceiling lights. I’ve always called them ceiling boobs.
We are currently working on a flip and are picking out light fixtures. I want something that is not the most expensive but also not the cheapest. Best bang for your buck! Speaking with my wife she was telling me that ceiling boobs are outdated and we should use something else. The ones she likes I’ll admit are nice but they’re also $90 each vs a two pack of stainless steel frosted glass ceiling boobs for $23. We’ll need 2 of them.
Are ceiling boobs outdated and is it worth it to get the more expensive ones?

Hey y'all,
Just saying hello to everybody, I haven't really had much time to do my intro post so I'm a little late. I have been on here for about a week and so far I love it and I read different forums every single day. It has replaced my senseless Facebook searching, which is a great thing. I hope to make positive friends and find a strong mentor that can help me reach success!

Howdy everybody,
This is actually my very first post on here and I am completely new to real estate investing. I have invested much of my time learning how this whole ordeal works but, I still have a few thoughts that I would like to run by y'all.
Since I've started researching, I have knocked out a lot of distractions (watching T.V., video games, Facebook, etc.) to keep me more focused on my goal. I've looked into many different types of RE. To start my journey I want to get out of my overpriced apartment and into a duplex free of rent. Good first choice? Why?
I live in an oil boom town and right now everyone is hurting for good money with no signs of any prices dropping. I am afraid of purchasing and not being able to fill the other half of the building thus leaving me in a slump. But I guess thats what risk taking is all about, right? Do you think a duplex, with how the market is, is a wise decision for a first investment?
