Thanks everyone for taking time to give me advice.
Antonio - have you gone to the Section 8 landlord seminar put on by the Birmingham Housing Authority? I am planning on going but was wondering whether it was worth it.

Hi Anson and Joe.
Joe - thanks for your offer to help. Good luck with your investments in Texas. As to your question about foreclosures and whether the market has rebounded here, I just don't know. I do recall hearing that the Birmingham market never fell as far as other markets, and therefore, did not have as far to return, but that could all be just pure speculation.

Great forum. I've looked through parts of it, and I am impressed with the amount of knowledge of the members. As noted above, I am in Birmingham, Alabama. I am looking to buy single family rentals or small apartment complexes (2 - 20 units). I've been looking for over a year. As is mentioned on here, I do suffer from paralysis by analysis. For the other investors in Birmingham, what areas do you focus on? My initial thought was to buy some single family houses and go Section 8. With that being said, are there certain areas in Birmingham that I should gear my search toward?

Thank you in advance for any and all information.
