Hello!  I recently bought a home (it's my primary residence) and have started renting rooms to boarders.  I hope it's ok to ask questions about this here; I know it's not a standard investment property situation.

Last night, one of my tenants yelled at me for several minutes on end, then made a vague statement that he felt he might lose control and do something regrettable.  (I don't get a sense that he is physically dangerous, but I could be wrong.)  He's been here for two weeks and this is the first incidence of this type of behavior.  He is month to month, and I let him know I am not going to have him here for September (i.e. 30 days notice, so August would be his last month).

I would like to get him to leave sooner if legally possible, for my peace of mind and the safety and comfort of future tenants, if I rent other rooms in the house.  Certainly not going to bring another tenant in while he is still here.  I was thinking a 7 day cure or quit notice based on violating my right to peaceful enjoyment of the property, which is explicitly written into the lease.  Is a 7 day cure or quit notice appropriate in this case?  And then if he does it again, I would have grounds for removal.

I live in Florida and have been going by this document, which seems to indicate this is the right way to handle it. http://fl-landlord.com/downloa...

Thank you!
