Ontario Canada has recently declared war on small businesses and in particular Landlords. Landlords will soon be unable to raise rents to reflect market conditions even if a tenant moves out. Given the rising cost of real estate, punitive taxation and high maintenance and operating costs, what can a real estate investor do to cash flow?

Thanks guys for the response.  I should add that I will be the partner overseeing everything, from the selection of the property, renovating it, renting it out and doing the property management.

In a partnership arrangement where I bring the rehabbing skills and my partner brings the money, should I charge the partnership contractor fees? After all I may have a family to feed… what is typical?
