Post: Yellow Letters Examples?

Hi I've been using a letter that is just written by one person, but do you guys seem to get a better response by including your spouse's name?

Jesse (or anyone), what is deceptive about yellow letters?

I recall reading/hearing things suggesting that people don't respond after just one letter. So I'm curious - do you send multiple letters to the same person? If so:

-how often?
-do you use the same format?
-what should it say? (the same thing as the first or "hey me again...")

I've sent out 60 yellow letters and got three missed calls. We left a message on two, but the other's inbox was full. I would love it if it were 1 in 10 or even 1 in 30. Because so far it's 0 in 60 and I'm starting to get discouraged.

All we've done are yellow letters because I'm still trying to find where I can post flyers/signs/hand out business cards legally.

Post: Gas prices

The gas prices in my area is all around $4.50 for premium at a good stations such as Chevron or Shell. I think the engine-destroying cheap stuff is $4.15-4.29. I drive a smart car, which has a minimum of 91 but I get average (city+hwy) 40mpg so the few cents extra is neglible in the overall savings vs a regular car (or suv as many people have around here).

I know gas is rising but please get the grade your car needs, and don't believe all gas is created equal. A few dollars extra at Shell (vs Arco, USA) today will save much in repairs later.

I bought in 2008 and had a strong feeling to sell. I texted my husband on 4/30 but forgot about it when I got home from work. Now I wish I had. Selling now would still be a good gain but not as good and my gut is telling me not to. Now I guess I'll hold on, I'm just nervous it will keep dropping.

Thanks for the input, everyone.
I think we'll go with the dual domains and have an email for each of us and continue using the generic gmail address we share now for craigslist.

I'm thinking of adding team@ that forwards to both of us, or maybe we'll just choose one of us to be the point of contact for certain people. For example, we've both been using the generic email to contact the CPA and printers, but it's mostly been me writing the emails to the CPA and my husband writing the emails to the printer. We share a personal email for mutual friends and it's been working out really well (we started that when we forget to tell the other about events), but I'm not sure if that's the best route for this. Thoughts?

I know about LinkedIn and I do plan to update my profile there. My question is not about "what should I sign up for" but more how to handle it when people (whether it's buyers, sellers, etc) find me and send me a friend request. I wasn't planning on using that profile. Are you suggesting I deny it and send them a message to connect with me on LinkedIn instead? Thanks for your input.

I hope this is the right section to post in, and I believe this is just a quick, simple question. We are ready to buy a domain to start utilizing Google Apps. We probably won't be going live right away, but I'll start building it soon. I have a background in web design, so I already have hosting.

Right now my husband and I share a generic email that we have been using for craigslist. We figure it'd be better each have our own emails for personal communication and to put on our cards. The domain I'm choosing is our company name and i think works in length for website, but my husband is afraid it's too long for an email. There is no practical way to shorten it (using the whole words is simpler) in a way that's available.

So which of these is more practical and professional?

[email protected] (domain 16letters)
[email protected] (word 5 letters)

We plan on applying different suffixes to the same first word as we grow.

What i like about using the domain is that you already have the website, and vice versa. Easier to remember. The latter is shorter, but then that's less consistency, except it is something we can continue using as we grow, no matter how many different strategies/companies/websites we have. Thoughts?

I've seen questions about using facebook, but it seems to be mostly people wondering if they should sign up. I have been on facebook for a few years. I was wondering what I should do now that I'm starting in the real estate business. I already made only my basics visible to non-friends, and not even all friends have full access to my profile and feed. I was also thinking of making a facebook page for my business at the same time I make a website. However, I know people are going to be searching for me and I already got a friend request last night after going to a REIA meeting. I'm going to throw some questions out there, so if you have any tips, let me know.

1) Should I make myself not searchable, thus also blocking myself from friends?
2) Should I have another profile - the problem with this is it will be empty and I don't like the idea of two identities.

Okay actually I don't remember the rest of the questions and ideas that were running through my head while driving a few minutes ago. Please let me know what you do or if you have any suggestions. It's not like my facebook is unprofessional, but it's not professional if that makes sense. If I had a professional profile, I would only post relevant stuff. However, my facebook is full of every facet of my life. I have my old high school friends, family, etc. It's not like it's incriminating, but random and silly.

I just like to be real and don't like the idea of monitoring my profile.
