My SFH basement is cold. I am doing a live in rehab. There are 2 heat pump heater vents but they do not keep basement warm enough. Should I buy 2 plug-in baseboard heaters or add baseboard heaters wired to circuit breaker box. The plug-in heaters are less expensive.

Thanks in advance.

Post: Renting an SFH with in-law suite

My challenge. I petitioned for a variance to turn my sfh to an multi-family by finishing the basement to an apartment. Baltimore county denied the petition because I couldn't show a hardship if the variance to the zoning code was not granted. My basement has a kitchen, bathroom with a shower, laundry facility, large open area, and a bedroom (minus a closet). It also has a separate entrance. I want to rent the house out as a rental with a built-in inlaw suite. The tenant could legally rent it out to a relative but not to someone that is not related. Any suggestions for maximizing my opportunities.

I am a 66 year old newbie invester looking to invest in a multifamility home. I plan to house hack and rent out my current home to section 8 renters. My end goad is to have 5 duplexes to provide passive income for retirement.  I am still working and plan continue to do so until I accomplish my goal.  I am looking for folks in the Baltimore County area who can help me.
