@Lakeisha Fenner

Hey! I am on the same boat than you! Is that seminar by any chance Nov 6,7, and 8? If so, I'll be there too!

@Account Closed

I don't feel sorry for your struggle I don't think neither should you. What you're missing is purpose (maybe among other things, I don't know you).

Remember the story of A Christmas Carol. At the beginning of the story, Scrooge's purpose in life was to use people to save money. By the end of the story, his purpose was to use money to save people. His newly found purpose made him a happy person.

If you're thinking I'm saying go give charity you missed the point of what I'm trying to convey. Charity won't help you for crap.

My wife and I just moved to "West Brickell" in Miami (that is the not-so-fancy part of town, but put in nice words). I am still trying to make it here, but we are happy. We know our mission. We know our purpose. We have been very up, and very down in life. In both situations, we never felt lost or doubt of who we are or what we are trying to do. Even when not working was an option, and I took extra days off, I did it to have some recreation time. And I mean, re-creation time. Deep thought and analysis of who I am and who I want to be. Ask great questions to yourself and you will come up with great answers. But the real trick is to learn how to ask great questions. It's not easy to.

In brief, you have to discover (or rediscover) yours. If you are a third generation ... whatever you've said, how does that make you YOU? In other words, why is keeping your family's legacy important to you, and how do you, through your life, plan to give in a new meaning that represents you?

I'll tell you what, I open you an invitation to come play a tennis match against me and talk. You will lose against me in tennis, but you will win against yourself in this dilemma.

Thank you for your awesome response! Good luck in your future deals! I'm sure you'll do great. I am new to BP and I find these forums very inspiring. Since now I'm in a position in which I can dive into RE, I'm meeting with my realtor next week to see about a property. Hopefully I'll be able to make a thread about my first deal very soon too!

Congratulations @Ka'Ron Purnell! You seem like a very smart, well prepared investor! I'm currently looking for my first deal opportunity in the South FL market. Hopefully, I can jump into this as soon as I find something I'm comfortable with. Question: did you have any criteria for your first property, other than "something that makes money"?

Congrats! I'm about to jump right into this too. Analyzing deals as we speak (or trying to)!

Would you mind sharing some more details on the analysis you've done? My major challenge is evaluating potential rent income.
