Does anyone have a recommended property management agency in St Thomas and/or St Croix? If you buy a condo in one of these locations and rent it out short-term, does the condo complex usually handle rentals, or do you need to find a manager?

Thank you for your insights. What kind of travelers do you get in Girdwood and Wasilla? Is it mostly outdoorsy people (hikers, skiers, mountaineers, etc)? 

Does anyone have experience in the Alaska short-term rental market? I'm researching the area with the intent to buy a large house within an hour of Anchorage with the intent to rent it out as a premium short-term rental. I'm planning to move to the area myself and would love to buy, occupy, and then convert it to an investment property after ~1 year. Unfortunately, my research so far shows low nightly rates that don't match the high purchase prices. 

What is the best island in the US for short term rental investment in regards to friendly regulations and cash-on-cash returns? Oahu, Hilton Head, St Thomas, Martha’s Vineyard, another island? 

What are the STR for the different islands of Hawaii? I see that Oahu basically requires you to be in one of a limited list of properties or condo buildings. Are the other islands similar?
