I found a 200 unit storage facility for sale. It’s $150,000. I was wondering if anyone else has experience with storage facilities...what are some of the challenges? Does this require a business loan in order to purchase? Is this a good long term investment? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I also live in saratoga and have looked at multi-families in all three markets. The problem with Schenectady is the high taxes. Certain parts of Troy are nice, but the houses are really old. Same with Albany. I haven’t seen a lot of structurally sound properties. Just my experience.

Is it difficult to get started?

I am looking for advice on becoming a loan broker. My brother in law owns a company which trains newbies on how to start a loan brokerage company. I was looking for some input on how hard it is to get started. I know it probably takes a while to build up a list of clients. I asked him how much they typically make and he said $180k a year.
