Hey Guys, Just a question, would you pull a permit for a basement remodeling project? here is the back story. I am looking to remodel an entire basement, with the help of a neighbor, who works as a contractor, and has also just finished his basement. He states that a permit is not needed to be pulled due to all the extra cost associated with it, also, he states that if we do not plan on selling the home, then a permit is not needed. From my research, it seems like a pulling permit is more for protection purposes for DIYer who may not properly build or remodel, but since i am working with an experienced contractor, i feel that his experience should be helpful in spotting dangerous builds. What are your thoughts on pulling a permit vs not pulling a permit based on is this situation? Thanks guys
