Be careful...  1 in 12 of our applicants for single family homes are fraudulant.  I know a PM who manages a appartment building and 1 in 4 are fradulant.  We spend $1,000/ mo on fraud prevention.  Make sure if you do your own screening, you use a service that detects fraud and does not just send you the unaudited reports.

When it comes to collecting rent and keeping things organized, platforms like Hemlane or Buildium maybe can help, check it out and see if works for you. They handle rent payments, leases, and even let you communicate with tenants online so you don’t have to be there in person.

And if you want a little backup, there are remote property management services or virtual assistants who can take care of the day to day stuff for you.
