Hi @Sonya Habibi, congrats on taking the first step and deciding to purchase an investment property. Next thing you will want to do is to soak up as much information on investing you can. Also, start looking at duplexes to figure out what you might like and what criteria are important to you.

I would be happy to set you up with notifications when duplexes hit the market.

Hi Brad Thank you so much for your help, I will definitely look at some duplexes. And yes, absolutely, I want to learn as much as I can on investing. I touched up on it, in college, but it has always been something I have wanted to dive deeper into. I would also love to be set up with notifications, that sounds great. Thank you so much!

Thank you @Julee Felsman! You are so right in regards to the landmines we are currently dealing with. It has definitely been interesting (to say the least) with the current challenges we are dealing with. I was apprehensive about joining but I really feel like you all have made me feel so welcomed. I look forward to learning more helping others.

Hi BP! My name is Sonya Habibi, I live in Portland Oregon, and I am trying to get started in Real Estate. I've been a property manager for 3 years, and I currently manage two large multi-family properties. My goal is to learn more about RE, and hopefully become financially independent by 2025.

My assistant told me about Bigger Pockets, and I am excited to meet new people, and learn about everything real estate! Being a property manager, allows me to know this side of real estate, but I am ready to further develop my skills by learning from others and getting to know other aspects of real estate.

My boyfriend and I are looking to purchase a duplex soon to start the investing journey. If anyone would like to offer any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. This is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I am eager to start and connect with others.
