Post: Forming a beginning LLC for realestate

Hello into the void, my friends and I are interested in pooling together our money and starting a business. Our intention is to pool around $10k into an LLC and begin in investing aggressively in securities for the next year so that by next summer we may have enough money for a down payment on a piece of realestate that we hope to rent out and reinvest into the company. All three of us are 18 and going into college next fall, so this will have to be in the background of our time at college while we are studying. Any comments and tips would be very appreciated, or even rip us apart with what you know if you think this is a bad idea.

Thanks!

Spencer W.

@Jim Celmer

I'd be more than happy to talk about this at length if you're interested in teaching me about it! The internet isnt very transparent when I googled "dividend house".

@Jeff Filali

Thanks for the strait forward response! These pieces of advice are beyond helpful, and I appreciate the time it may have taken you to respond. I have heard of Gary Vee on Instagram where my friend turned me onto his page. The "no free rides" mentality is what i'm beginning to develop as I realize how everything in life costs money and that only hard work can make you successful!

@Kevin C.

Believe me when I say that I've thought about the potential scam that college can be. I think that the extra knowledge that can be found on the internet and in books far outweighs something that will be lectured at me. The security of the degree that it will provide is an important factor in the weighing process, and to me I find it to be beneficial to have that under my belt.

@Matt Lefebvre

Thank you for offering a helping hand! To be successful it seems like you shouldn't sit still while the massive amount of opportunities available around you in America. So all this time that I have just laying there, I thought why not put it towards something valuable and can help me in the future.

@Jim Celmer

This route is very interesting! The dividend equities do seem a lot cheaper than saving and eventually purchasing  a property. Maybe if I use the time that I have to invest in these and use them as another source of cash while I work and save money towards my first real estate investment!

Hello! My name is Spencer and I've been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcasts lately and learned about the networking and knowledge that is available on the forums. I was wondering if anyone would like to discuss a plan for someone who is not in college yet with a moderately paying W2 job (Minimum wage in Mass is $11/hr)  to begin looking at real-estate opportunities. I understand that being a minor is holding me back for now, however, I will be turning 18 in a couple months and would like to have somewhat of a plan. I plan on getting my real-estate license but will have limited use for it seeing as i'm so inexperienced.

Thank you, Spencer W.
