I did do the time 30 days for the crime. I did 2 years probation and after that I got my withheld judgment. I am not hiding anything. I thought the judgment was suppose to clear my record and it also means that I was not convicted of the crime. So I was just wondering why I am unable to rent an apartment. I am up front with the landlords.

I am looking to rent an Apartment in St. Petersburg Fl. I was turned down for one because I let them do a background check on me. I had a withheld judgment five years ago and to my understanding after I did my probation with the judgment I have NOT been convicted of a crime.  I was also told that I could say I am not a convicted felon. So I guess I need to know are there any places That I can rent from. I am fifty years old, never been in trouble before in my life. It was a burglary charge to where my children came in to the store I was working at and took some stuff. I was charged because I knew about it. My husband is retired Military and works in Clearwater Fl. and we can't find a place to live. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.
