Post: Finding the first property

Hello,

I am new and just starting out on my journey here.  I am in the process of finishing my first BP book and just getting acquainted the the forums here.  My question is how do or did many of you find your first property?

I am more interested in finding a duplex or multi-unit property that I can do some analysis and research on.  My trouble is finding properties that seem to fit this description.  There are tons of single family homes, but the picking seems super slim on homes with potential for 2 income properties.  Maybe my search terms or criteria need some adjustments.  I generally just search on zillow/trulia/realtor .com sites.  Filtering for a "multi-family" property is not producing the type of results I would like.  Any advise?
