@Jenny D. Thank you for your service. The Air Force was kind enough to take me for a ride in an F-16 with the Thunderbirds. Too much fun! On the side I now fly single engine, Cirrus.

My strategy now is aimed at single family rentals using the BRRRR strategy. I'll actually be in the area this week. An unexpected trip after a death in the family. But might take a drive through some neighborhoods to get a feel for them.

@Jenny D. Hey great to hear from you. Main reason is having family that lives close by, and would be able to check up on investments. I also think Austin, Dallas or Houston would be great, but more of a drive for them. A hat tip to Robert Kiyosaki, just trying to think like a Texan!

My real estate investing experience at this point consists of jumping on the forums, reading books, listening to podcasts, driving the area to scope out prospects, and trying to soak up as much information as possible.

I’m looking forward to connecting with everyone here on BP.

I reside in the NYC metro area, but I also have family in Central Texas. I’d love to own properties in the Temple/Belton/Killeen, Round Rock, and Austin areas. The lower cost of living and the landlord friendly environment are attractive to me. However, it would be nice to be closer to my investments. I’m also willing to kick the tires on opportunities in Westchester County, Rockland Co, and Fairfield Co, but I’ll admit, I’m sensing a taller barrier to entry than TX.

I love my W2 job and don’t plan on leaving it any time soon. This would be a side hustle to build up my family’s nest egg.

This is still the saving and education phase of my experience, but I'm just finishing Brandon Turners book, and I'm intrigued by BRRRR investing. The renovation/rehab part, and then determining the ARV is what I need the most help with. And then trying to figure out how to do it from a distance. David Greenes's books are next on my list.

I’ll be browsing the forms, but if anyone has been using these methods, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
