Thanks for all the advice.  Very appreciated! I think I am mostly focused on appreciation. My biggest challenge is that I don't think I should sell my current place in bed-stuy now as it's going to keep appreciating for who knows how long.  So I was thinking I could rent the apartment at a profit and use that profit to help pay for a bigger mortgage on a two-family in a developing area. Try to make the rental of the 2-family cover at least a piece of the mortgage. And basically maintain my same monthly costs but add a new property.  (And then eventually sell one of them and use that money to get a property that enables passive income.) So, my main questions now are what brooklyn neighborhood is best for appreciation in the next 5 - 7 years. Also want someplace that is desireable enough that I can get a decent tenant. Probably my biggest fear is getting into tenant problems and losing monthly income.

Hi new to the site and I wanted to see if anyone has experience buying a multi-family in Cypress Hills or nearby. Looking for an area that is affordable now but developing. I am considering selling my primary apartment in bed stuy that is now worth more than 2x what I paid. I think I can get $750k. And I’d like to invest ina property with rental units. Any thoughts on Cypress Hills?
