I'm thinking the same @Tiffany Plovie .  Seems like i'll eliminate some potential tenants and it will take me longer to rent out the place.

I was just wondering if anyone had an experience like this before.

Death in the rental unit

If a prior occupant of the rental unit died in

the unit within the last three years, the owner

or the owner’s agent must disclose this fact to

a prospective tenant when the tenant offers to

rent or lease the unit. The owner or agent must

disclose the manner of death, but is not required

to disclose that the occupant was ill with, or died

from, AIDS. However, the owner or agent cannot

intentionally misrepresent the cause of death in

response to a direct question.85

I'm in escrow to purchase a property.  I just received the real estate disclosures and it lists the owner's mother died of natural causes in bed couple months ago.  The son is the current owner now.

I believe I have to disclose this to future tenants for 3 years after the death.  Will disclosing this information scare away potential tenants?

I can still back out of the purchase.

Any advice will be helpful.
