Quote from @Jose Castro:

Hey Guys, new to the BiggerPockets community. Learning a bunch and looking forward to buying my first rental home in the next 3 to 6 months. Also,  I am an Electrician and own my company. Looking forward to winning and seeing everyone win in this community.

Hi Jose, welcome to BiggerPockets! This is surely the best place to start networking and learning. You would find your job to be very beneficial on your real estate journey. I always recommend the book “Rich dad, Poor dad” by Robert T. Kiyosaki to anyone starting out. Start listening to the BiggerPockets podcast starting at the very beginning and start growing your network, look on Facebook/BiggerPockets for different events, find a mentor doing what you want to do, and get to know the local lenders/brokers. All the best to your real estate journey!

Hey Daniel, you should check out Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Your money will go very far, you'd be able to pick up a multifamily portfolio and start your cash flow. Not to mention Ohio is a landlord-friendly state.

Hey Alden, great position to be in. You should consider investing in OOS in Columbus. The price to rent ratio makes for great investments. Not to mention our appreciation has been 8% higher than the US national average, because of the high demand for affordable housing.

Hey John, I have brokered a lot of deals recently in Cleveland for the cash flow, the cash flow is king up there, however appreciation is lacking and seems to be along with the US national average. Whereas cities like Columbus have some cash flow, but tons of appreciation! If you need to find a good neighborhood to start on, let's connect and discuss how I can help you out.
