Hello my family of 2 adults and two babies live in a 2 bed apartment for $1250 a month. We need to find something cheaper but the places were finding are not in safe areas. How can we find cheaper rent with not much money down? We do want to settle down somewhere.. Is there any way to be paying $1000 a month for mortgage? Rent to own? Leasing? I'm that savvy in this area but I would love feedback. I saw some ads rent to own with no money down on bad credit with low monthly payments on Craigslist but it sounds to good to be true. Please any help or advice would help.

Do you think the rent to own idea is a good one? I've seen advertisements for cheaper monthly then what were paying but read that most out a scam. We don't have a down payment or extra money but I know we can save $$ if we weren't paying so much in rent. We live in a 2 bed apartment for a family of 4 and the cheaper places I've seen are in areas and places that I would not feel safe with my kids in. Are vehicle just broke down and we want something safe for our kids but are afraid to finance becuase we can barely pay our monthly expenses now... I just don't know how to get out of this hole.. The debt we have is from cars we've bought and were unable to keep up on payments and the rest of the debt from @6 years ago being irresponsible but that was the past. We both have great job experience but the careers aren't ment to support a family. Before my kids I worked as a Administrative assistant for Barbizon modeling of San Francisco. I moved back to my home town for cheaper living expenses and unfortunately the step down from where we're living now is the ghetto and I don't feel safe in those areas with my kids

Wow thank you thank you for all of your advice. I was weary that I wouldn't get a response. As a household we make @ 35,000 a year I stay home with my kids , I have a newborn and a toddler We are about 60,000 in debt. Rentals in safe areas are expensive so most our income goes to just living expenses (rent is $1250 monthly!!) have no friends & family to live with due to rocky families We live on the bare minimum No cable tv No extra expenses.. Shop thriftily, ect.. We both come from poor family's and neither of us have a college education BUT were intelligent, hard working, personable people who WILL make a change in our lives but just don't know how to get there... We're taking the steps but in the immediate future were struggling to get through daily financial life. Yesssss I have just begin to discover positive affirmations, got the Power of Now book from the library as a first step and see a change in my attitude which has already started to get me more motivated and taking action. I WILL go get all these suggestions and read them. I just want my kids to break free from financial stress and I believe that I don't need to follow in my family's footsteps. You have no idea how much it means to me that you guys took the time out of your day to give true honest advice. THANK YOU!

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask but I need advice, help, guidance. If you can give me any advice or direct me where I can go for guidance it would be greatly apprieciated.  I come from a very poor family and have had many hardships through my life. I'm now 30 with two kids and unfortunately following in there foot steps of financial distress.. My fiance is working very many hours to make ends meat but it doesnt even begin to cut it we can barely pay our bills and were so in debt and I cant even provide basic needs for my babies. I DONT want this for my kids and I DONT believe I'm destined to live a poor life just because my families financial state! I want to change my life I've been doing positive affirmations, meditating, and want to take control of my life but I'm coming from the bottom and my question is IS THERE HOPE? My dream is to be succseful enough where I Can provide for my kids and have extra income so the rest of my family also. How though? Where do I start if I have no resources? I'm still young, hardworking, personable, attractive (I'm not concieted just a realist and know this can work to my advantage) Can anyone tell me any advice would be so appreciated I dont want to live in this pain anymor
