I've read a few postings on a site called rentometer that compares rents around you. not sure how accurate it is but just thought it might be worth checking out. best of luck.

To answer a few othe questions I was asked, I'm in downtown Salt Lake. As far as the type of investing, seeing I was in the military I have access to the VA loan which gives me somewhat of an advantage. The only stipulation is that with the Va loan I would only be able to go into a duplex, triplex, fourplex. The reasons for this is because the va requires you to occupy the home as your main residents for at least 1 year. So I have put most of my rearesearch into multi family homes if that answers your question.

Thank you guys for the welcome! I know this is probably beating a dead horse but what is your opinions on getting my real estate license? I know it's not 100% necessary, but in my position now not knowing alot and limited recources. I feel it may benefit me by having that knowledge.
